Officially there are two types of croquet - Association Croquet
and Golf Croquet.
There are variations according to country: in the US and Canada they play both Association and Golf
Croquet but they have adapted the Association rules to create such things like "dead" balls.
In Asia they have a form of croquet called Gateball. If "normal" croquet can be compared with snooker or
billiards on grass then Gateball is definitely pool on grass.
Golf Croquet
This is the game most people in Australia begin playing. It is easy to learn and fun to play but make no mistake it
can get very serious as this video will demonstrate.
Association Croquet The "purest" form of croquet. The
following video shows the basics of Association Croquet. Note the two balls placed together, that is the key
difference between Association and Golf Croquet. This video features Wayne Davies, an Australian who is now a
croquet professional in the US.
