From the President

Memberships Due
Club membership fees are now well and truly due. If you want to pay directly into the club’s bank account, please arrange this with our treasurer, Helen.

Grant for Shade Structure
We were successful in getting a grant for the shade structure, so that the grant plus the donation from Jim Grose means we spent very little of our club funds on it. One of our rationales was that the World’s (Association) will be held at the club next year. The application was supported by our local member on Council, Steven Marshall.

Coaching Requests
Golf Croquet: In September I will present a series of “mini sessions” on elements of golf croquet before play starts on Mondays. David is also willing to stay behind after play on Mondays to assist anyone with concerns relating strategy, stroke making or mallets.

Association Croquet: All club coaches will be involved in presenting a series of coaching sessions between play on Saturdays. Hopefully that will get underway in September as well.

If you have any particular issues relating to either golf or association that you would like covered, ask one of the coaches.

Paying for Playing in Town
If you are playing at SACA please pay your team captain - who will hand all money to our treasurer. While renovations are on, no money is to be held at headquarters.

Bottle Collection
Please place your bottles in the shed. Members of the committee were concerned that vandals might use broken ones to damage the shade structure.

Club News

1. Spring has arrived which means summer whites from October 1st. It also means “Spring Pennants” are just around the corner. If you would like to play in either golf or association see your division captain and put your name on the list. We also need players to fill in as reserves.

2. The club website has been up-dated with more information on our club and information and insight into the game for new players. There are also interesting video clips of world champions.

The web address is www.norwoodcroquet.asn.au. If you have any photos you would like included on the site please see me.

3. Last but by no means least - a very proud note to finish on. Congratulations to Marga who was runner-up in the Golf Croquet Women’s Open Event held recently in Brisbane - very well done.
