A Bit About Us
Our
Members We're a club of about 70 to 80 croquet devotees made up
from a wide cross section of modern society; doctors, teachers, accountants, domestic engineers, business
owners, trades people-you name it-working hard to develop our game and to make our club one of the best
in the country.
Our Sport This is the challenge: to hit a ball through a
hoop fractionally wider than the ball itself from a variety of distances and angles as you progress from
hoop to hoop. At the same time you are also trying to make it hard for your opponent(s) to do the same.
You repeat this again and again until the game is won.
Croquet is a game of precision and strategy which can be played on an equal basis by players irrespective
of age or gender.
Our Club The
Norwood Croquet Club is one of
the leading clubs in South Australia.
You will find us at the Buttery Sports Ground, 259 Portrush Road, Norwood, just a few kilometres east of the city of Adelaide where
we have four championship quality courts, all equipped with lights for night play.
We have an active playing group and we play several times a week. Additionally we have a number
of coaches keen to help the happy blend of social and highly competitive club players improve their
game.
We enter teams in the local
competitions and several members of the club are world-ranked players. Be you a beginner or a star we would love to
see you at our club.
